Density of population is defined as the number of persons per square kilometer
Among states, Bihar has most densely populated states with 1102 persons /sq km in 2011 and881 persons /sqkm in 2001 and Arunachal Pradesh has the least densely populated state with 17 persons/sqkm in 2011 and 13 persons/sq km in 2001.
In 1999, less than 30 years later, the population doubled to 6 billion. The main reason for this growth was that with better food supplies and medicine, deaths were reducing, while the number of births still remained fairly high.
Literate is a person who acquires the capacities of reading, and writing by himself or herself. According to the Census 2001, a literate person is one who is 7 year old and can read and write any language with understanding.

C. 10 to 19 years
The segment of population within the age group of 10 to 19 years is generally termed as adolescents. They are the would-be adults and are the most important resource of the country for the future. In India one fifth of the total population is the adolescent population. The huge size of adolescent population is a most significant feature of the Indian population because their involvement is the potential workforce.
