Explanation
A reddish brown crust of potassium hydrogen tartrate, known as agrol is deposited during the fermentation of grape juice.
Triethyl amine and diethyl ether also does not have H-bonding because the Hydrogen atom is not bonded with Oxygen. Ethanol has H-bonding because the Hydrogen atom is bonded with O-atom. Hence it has the maximum hydrogen bond.
Denatured alcohol, also called methylated spirits, is ethanole that has additives (i.e., methanol, naphtha, pyridine etc.,) to make it poisonous, somewhat bad tasting, foul smelling or nauseating, to discourage recreational consumption. In some cases it is also dyed.
Substrates that successfully undergo the haloform or Iodoform reaction are methyl ketones and secondary alcohols oxidizable to methyl ketones, such as isopropanol. The only primary alcohol and aldehyde to undergo this reaction are ethanol and ethanal, respectively. To give a positive Haloform or Iodoform test a molecule must have at least two carbon atoms. These must be the first two carbons in a chain and carbon number two must have an oxygen atom attached. Hence propanol (CH3CH2CH2OH) fails to meet this.
