Explanation
A ninhydrin test is used to detect the presence of amino acids (proteins). During the test, which boils a solution of ninhydrin, if there are amino acids present, the solution turns a blue or purple color.
The two DNA stands are known as polynucleotides, since they are composed of simpler units called nucleotides. Each nucleotide is composed of a nitrogen containing nucleabase either cytosine (c) , guanine (G) , adenine (A) or thymine (T) – as well as a monosaccharide sugar called deoxyribose and a phosphate group . Here Quinoline is an alkaloid, it will not presentent in DNA.
RNA has hydroxy group attached at the 2nd c – atom where as DNA does not.
