• Lakshadweep islands are coral islands formed by the agglomeration of skeletons and calcium carbonate secretions of tiny marine  animals called Polyps.
  
•  They live in colonies in symbiotic relationship with algae and zooxanthalae bacteria which gives vibrant colours to coral reefs and made the most productive and vegetative regions of the oceans .
  
• Salient features of Lakshadweep Islands:
  
• 1) Originated as coral islands and agricultural productivity is low due to infertile soil. 
  
• 2) Existence of atolls, corals etc., made it as one of the tourist destination.
  

• Landlocked states are those states which are surrounded by land on all the sides.
  
• Madhya Pradesh is surrounded by 5 states. They are:.

• The Himadri also called the Great or Inner Himalayas, is the northern most range of the Himalayas. This range is in a single, unbroken line and has the highest  peaks like Mount Everest and Mount Godwin Austin.
• Several glaciers, such as the Gangotri and the Siachen, originate from this range. The Zoji La pass is situated in the Great Himalayan range and serves as the only link between Ladakh and Kashmir.

Sri Lanka and Maldives. Sri Lanka is separated from India by a narrow channel of sea formed by the Palk Strait and the Gulf of Mannar.

Sri Lanka and the Maldives are the two island neighbor countries located south of India. Seven countries are sharing the boundaries with India. In Northwest there are Afghanistan and Pakistan, In the North, India is bound with China, Bhutan and Nepal, too far east India, is surrounded by Myanmar and Bangladesh to the east. In the south-east there lies Sri Lanka and the Maldives in the south-west. These two countries share water borders.
