Yes, Once I had vomiting and loose motions. Doctor said my stomach was upset. My body was not keeping any food and water and I became very weak. Then, I was given glucose drip, which gave me some strength quickly, even without eating.

How do we perceive taste?

Human beings can differentiate mainly between the four fundamental tastes: sweet, salt, bitter and sour.

The tip of the tongue is most sensitive to sweet and salty substances, the sides to sour, while the back is most sensitive to bitter taste.

Explain the digestion of food in stomach. 

The stomach secretes digestive juices proenzyme pepsinogen and hydrochloric acid. Mucus is secreted by mucus membrane, and hydrochloric acid is secreted by oxyntic cells. 

Hydrochloric acid kills any germs in food and makes the medium in stomach acidic. Acidic medium is necessary for working of the gastric enzyme. 

Pepsinogen changes to pepsin which digests protein into peptides.

Yes, my mother often tells me eat slowly and chew well. It is because if the food is properly chewed up, it will be digested and we will get its maximum nutrition.

Rashmi belongs to a poor family. That is why she could eat only one roti in the whole day.
