• Food provides us the nutrients which keep us alive. Nutrients provide energy to our bodies so we can grow and be active and healthy.
• When we eat something that satisfies our taste buds, it also affects our mood.
• For example - a chocolate cake. It’s delicious but not a must for the body to survive. 
• Food provides our bodies with what they need to build new cells and tissues for growth.

• When feasts are given at specific stages of life, such as birth, birthday, marriage, etc. they imply social acceptance. 

• Bees would not survive outside of the hive in the cold winter months. So, during the favorable seasons like spring and summer, worker bees collect nectar and pollen so they can make stores of honey for the winter.
  
• Worker bees make only about 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in their short lifetimes. 
  
• The production of honey from nectar is a multi-step process that involves:-
  

1. Worker honeybees using her proboscis to suck up nectar from the inside of flowers.
   
2. Back at the hive, worker bees pass the nectar to the waiting house bees.
3. As the nectar is chewed and passed from bee to bee, digestive enzymes change the chemical properties of nectar, converting it into honey.
4. Now, they will spread the honey over the honeycomb to dry it and later store it.
5. When we find such a beehive, we collect the food stored by the bees i.e honey.

Herbivores:

Carnivores are those animals that obtain their food from killing and eating other animals. They eat herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores. There are of various types depending upon the type of animals they feed on.  

Plant as a source of food includes vegetables, fruits, roots, leaves, etc. Animal as a source of food includes beef, meat, chicken, egg, milk and milk products, pork, fish, crabs and other seafood.

Herbivores consume producers like plants which contain cellulose in the cell wall of their cells. Digestion of cellulose in the gut takes a longer time and hence, the gut of herbivores is longer than gut of carnivores.

• Seeds of many different vegetables can be sprouted and also the time they required for sprouting varies.
  
• We eat these raw because they are so tender and delicate. 
  
• The procedure for sprouting proceeds as follows:-

1. Put a small quantity of seeds in a container filled with water and leave this aside for a day.

To make a pickle, the things needed are the fruit or vegetable of which pickle has to made garlic, chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger, methi seeds,mustard seeds, salt, mustard oil etc.
Procedure to make a pickle:
First the fruit or vegetable of which pickle is to be made is cut and dried up thoroughly in the sun. Then after mixing it with all the species, salt and oil, it is kept in a dry glass jar and left undisturbed for a few weeks. In this way pickles are made.

Pickles are made up of
(i) Mango(sweet and sour)
(ii) Amla(both sweet and sour)
(iii) Chilli(red and green)
(iv) Lemon
(v) Jackfruit
(vi) Carrot.

Yes, in my house pickles of mango, lemon, amla and chilli are made. My mother makes these pickles. She learnt this from her mother.

Things which are soaked before cooking:
(i) Chana, moong etc.
(ii) Dry pea, rajma etc.
(iii) Soy bean.
(iv) Pulses before grinding 
(v) Rice, pulses etc before grinding
After soaking, these things swell up and become soft. Only when they become eatable. If rice, pulses etc are soaked before cooking, they take less time in cooking and thus fuel can be saved.

The following consequences may occur due to decrease in number of carnivores in an ecosystem.
(i) population of herbivores will increase due to absence of its predator
(ii) Plants will decrease in number or disappear from the system due to overgrazing by the herbivores
(iii) Both these factors may disturb the food chain and food webs thus affecting the ecosystem.

Chicken meat- Raw chicken meat, oil, spices, onions, salt.


Pudding- Rava (Semolina), dry fruits, ghee, sugar.

It's totally true that wild animals like tiger, wolf, lion, and leopard do not eat plants. Wild animals hunt and eat *herbivorous animals' such as zebra, goat, deer, giraffe, etc. But, the herbivorous animals are directly dependent on the plants for their food. If there are no plants, herbivorous animals will also not survive. In that case, wild animals will have nothing to eat and they will also die.

By preparing a variety of foodstuffs and dishes at home, we do not become autotrophic. Autotrophic is a term that is used for organisms that can produce their own food. We humans depend on plants for our food and the products which we get from them are used by us to make a variety of foodstuffs. Also, autotrophic organisms contain chloroplast which is an absolute necessity to be classified as an autotroph and we do not possess any such structures. So, we cannot be considered autotrophs.

Omnivore - These are the organisms that consume both animals and plants.

Both oil and fat are complex organic compounds which are insoluble in water.

• Oil: They are liquid at 20°C. Examples: Groundnut oil, mustard oil.
• Fat: They are solid/semisolid at 20°C Examples: Coconut oil, Palm oil.
