Oil wrestling is the national sport of Turkey. In this sport, the wrestlers cover themselves with olive oil. The wrestlers are known as 'pehlivan', wear a type of hand-stitched leather trousers called 'kisbet', which is traditionally made of water buffalo hide, and most recently has been made of calfskin.
